Controlled Payment Numbers™

Enable consumers to make card-not-present purchases without revealing their real card details and with no changes required at merchant POS

Research shows that 80%+ of consumers are concerned about using their Credit Cards online. How do you address your cardholders' fears and encourage them to spend more with your card online? Orbiscom's proven Controlled Payment Numbers™ application is an innovative solution that enables your cardholders to generate a substitute credit/debit card number when they make 'card not present' purchases, so that their real card number is never revealed. CPN allows cardholders to set controls over how the merchant uses the number, including amount and expiration.

Customers can shop:

  • At ALL merchants, both virtual and physical (MOTO)
  • Without having to reveal their real card details to the merchant
  • Without the merchant having to do anything NO MERCHANT ADOPTION REQUIRED

How it Works

  • Customer accesses CPN application on issuers website. The CPN application can be downloaded to the customers desktop (slim client) or served up to the customer each time through the issuers webcare / customer self-care interface (thin client)

  • Cardholder requests a card number (which will front their real card number) from the bank for use in any Card Not Present transaction

  • Depending on the controls set by the cardholder (or the card issuer) the number can be good for one transaction or for multiple transactions

  • Transaction will ultimately be authorised and settled against the cardholders real account

  • Transaction will appear on card statement as if real card had been used

  • Works for debit and credit cards

  • BILLIONS OF DOLLARS TRANSACTED NO FRAUD!
